Matt Brooks is the founder and coach behind Matt Brooks Personal Training aka MBPT.

He got into personal training for the headspace as much as the physical side - because movement, when done well, supports how you feel, think and live.

His approach is holistic and intuitive, grounded in fundamentals and shaped by years of working with people of all ages and abilities - from everyday clients to athletes and post-rehab clients.

Calm, knowledgeable and easy to work with, Matt's role is simple: create a safe space, guide the process and help people build strength, confidence and long-term wellbeing.

Matt's story

Matt's story

Matt didn't get into personal training because he was always fit, healthy and sorted. He got into it because, at one point, he wasn't.

Going through a rough patch, mentally and physically, Matt found that movement was the thing that brought him back. Not a quick fix, not a program off a shelf. Just showing up, consistently, and letting his body and mind find their way back to each other.

That experience is at the core of everything MBPT does. Because Matt knows what it feels like to be out of that equilibrium. He knows what it takes to get back to it. Strong body, clear mind. Both tracking. Both supported.

He became a trainer because he wanted to give that to other people. To create a space where people can do the same thing, whatever their version of that looks like.

  • 500-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher)

  • First Aid certification

  • Working with Children Check

  • NDIS registered provider (in progress)

  • 10 years personal training experience

  • 5 years rehab / facility work
